A Million Hands

Date: 16th Mar 2022 Author: 1st Bramhall

Last Friday we started working on a project called ‘A Million Hands’. This initiative involves patrols choosing who they would like to help and support, identifying how they will do this, completing the action task, learning more about how their action has had an impact and then presenting this back to the whole troop.

Patrols planned out who they wanted to help and how they would go about doing this. They then chose their action task.   Some patrols carried out their action task Saturday after the Night Hike – see the flyer below for the car wash and coffee morning.

Badger patrol‘s chosen project was to promote an environmental topic, they chose to try to encourage drivers to turn their engines off while waiting. This not only saves fuel (and therefore £) for the driver but it also helps protect our planet from pollution. The scouts have designed and made posters that they will display around the village. They have also created a websiteplease visit their website and help promote it amongst friends and family, you could also download their fabulous poster.

Scouts will be earning their staged community impact badges with the PL’s and APL’s completing their leadership components of their chief scouts gold award.
