Welcome to 1st Bramhall XBU

The Explorers themselves help set their own program, which can range from full on expeditions and adventures to a chilled session in the explorer den. Our aim as explorer leaders is to provide a fun filled environment for the explorers to develop their full potential and continue their scouting adventure whilst learning a many life skills as they want to. Because this is an important time in the individuals education we always encourage them to get their school , recreation and sometimes work balance right.

We meet at the Bramley Centre each Thursday at 7:45 to 10:00. but please watch out for when the odd meeting falls on a Friday or at a weekend. We do this to maximise inclusion for those explorers that cannot always make a Thursday.

There is a wide range of badges and awards available to young people in the Explorer Section.

Activity badges

Many of the badges available are activity badges, which represent the pinnacle of achievement in a particular field. Whether their interests lie in Hill Walking or Performing Arts, Aviation or Public Relations, Explorers are rewarded both for developing existing strengths and undertaking new ventures.

Additional badges and awards

In addition, there are several extra badges and awards, obtained by taking part in particular challenges or schemes.

Core badges

There are a few core badges, obtained upon joining or moving on from the Unit, or for time spent in the Scout movement.

Recognising achievement

You can also keep your young people motivated and recognise achievement with your own awards.

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
