Family Camp

Last weekend c.215 Beavers, Cubs & Scouts descended on Kibblestone Scout Camp in Staffordshire for our Troop Family Camp & what a weekend.

We arrived Friday night to a jam packed weekend of fun & outdoor activities, and thankfully the weather was kind to us – late summer sun on the Saturday & only a little drizzly on the Sunday.

Beavers, Cub & Scouts took it in turns to cater each meal, and we had a delicious menu ranging from sausage butties for breakfast, a range of 5 different sandwiches for lunch & pasta sauce plus toppings for tea.

Brilliantly organised, a range of activities were on offer including rifle shooting, raft building, tree top climbing & archery.

Scavenger hunts, quizzes, flan decorating competitions, camp fires singalongs, alfresco disco (accompanied by a full light display!!! & playing some great “mum” tunes) were peppered throughout the weekend, alongside Whittle & Rohan’s feats of engineering – the 8 foot wooden catapult & of course the infamous carousel (pics to follow).

Each morning saw us celebrate the start of the day with “Flag Break” & “Skip”, our Group Leader kindly taught us a pack song for the weekend –  “Hi I’m Bob, I’m a goldfish” will be going round in our heads for years to come.

A fabulous weekend was had by all, and we enjoyed it so much; we’ve booked it again for our next family camp. Fancy coming next time?
