Making Waves: New Safety Equipment for 1st Bramhall Scout Group Thanks to Redrow Grant
We’re excited to share that 1st Bramhall Scout Group has received a generous donation from Redrow’s Woodford Community Fund, enabling us to expand our water sports activities with improved safety equipment.
The funding has allowed us to purchase new helmets and buoyancy aids, ensuring our young people can enjoy kayaking, sailing, and other adventurous water activities safely and confidently.
“Adventurous activities like water sports are an important part of Scouting,” said Julie Bottomley, President of 1st Bramhall Scouts. “They give young people the chance to challenge themselves, learn new skills, and most of all—have fun. We’re lucky to have some fantastic equipment and trained leaders already in place, but this new safety gear really helps us to do even more. We’re very grateful to Redrow for their support.”
With over 200 young people attending our sections each week—from Squirrels and Beavers through to Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers—we’re proud to offer a wide range of experiences that build confidence, resilience, and teamwork.
The donation came from Redrow’s £5,000 Woodford Community Fund, which has been shared between several local community groups and good causes in and around Woodford Garden Village.
We’re incredibly thankful for this support, which helps us continue delivering fun, safe, and challenging activities for the young people of Bramhall and Woodford.
